Toby 1999-2015
My little man turned up with pancreatitis this weekend, and he was so totally unhappy, even after two days of IV fluids at the vet. When none of that made him feel the least bit better, my choice was a feeding tube to try to restart his motor, or to let him go. I just couldn’t put him through the feeding tube when he was so unhappy already.
I was afraid he’d purr on the vet’s table, because usually when I take him to the vet he cuddles against me and purrs as if to say, “If I’m very optimistic nothing bad will happen.” But today he didn’t purr, he just seemed uncomfortable and disoriented. He hadn’t curled up and laid down his head since Saturday morning.
I will miss his funny yowling as he carried his toy mouse around, and his beautiful aquamarine eyes, and his cute ways of sleeping, and the way he came up on the bed and lay down with his paw in my hand.
I am so very very sorry.. my heart goes out to you at the loss of Toby.
“If ever there comes a day when we can’t be together, keep me in your heart, I’ll stay there forever”- Winnie the Pooh.
I’m so sad to hear about Toby. I had a cat put down years ago because of pancreatitis. Her vet commented that he hates that disease. We’re sending hugs and purrs your way.
We’re so very sorry to hear that Toby has gone to the Rainbow Bridge. Hugs, purrs and prayers to you as you mourn your special and beloved boy.
He was such a handsome boy! So very sorry for your loss. They do leave their pawprints on our hearts, don’t they? Hugs.
