Gatsby

September 22, 2014

Both little orangey girls were adopted last week – unfortunately, not together, but they seemed feisty enough to be alright on their own.  Pretty Jewel went back to see the vet, someone thought she was not eating.  If nothing is wrong with her, we should get her back with us soon.  All three adorable stripey ones were still there, which I found very surprising.

This young man had admirers when we arrived – I’m not sure whether they came back and followed through.  In all honesty, I’m not sure that is a bad thing – they were very good with him and seemed to appreciate his winning ways, but later Emmy overheard them arguing in the parking lot and she thought that one was berating the other for spending too much on supplies and not leaving enough money to pay for the cat.  I saw what got purchased, and even helped choose some of it, and it was NOT a lot – I thought that there should have been more food in that cart.  If they are that short of money, they probably should not be adopting an animal, IMHO.

But all of that is none of my business…  Here is his cuteness.  He is probably between four and five months old, he’s about the size of my foster Stanley.  He wanted to climb into your arms when you opened his cage, and I’m always a sucker for those cats.  We have new rules about letting cats under six months out and about (due to an abundance of caution about FIP) and he found that annoying.

He was here till closing time on Sunday. I’m glad he’s here given the situation. He should be adopted in a more stable home that has the resources for his basic care. He is adorable with those big eyes.

Agree! I am not sorry to hear this. I wonder if the one lady returned the supplies she had just bought two minutes before.
