Theo
Many changes in p0pulation at the cat room this week. Ramona and Beezus went back to see the vet because Beezus got sick. Lindy went back because apparently the paperwork they sent for her wasn’t really hers, and the only way to undo the mixup was to have her back as well as whatever other cats went out with the wrong paperwork. So the only cat still there from last week’s tabby fest was the very shy scared one, little Tabitha, who is not getting any better at relaxing.
A new inbound tabby this week was Theo. Every once in awhile, we get a cat who gets up when I unlock the cage, comes forward for attention, and then curls up and leans on me as I stand in their doorway. Theo was one of those. The first thing he wanted to do was come lie down and have me hug him. Aww. Attention was the only thing he showed a lot of interest in – he was SO quiet, very unlike the other teenagers we had running around the room. I honestly could not tell whether he was sick, or sad – my first guess was sad, as usually cats who feel awful don’t want to be held and fussed over, but it wasn’t entirely clear either way.
This was about the most interest he showed in anything outside his cage.
I held him on my lap for awhile and he was very very quiet – but that ended when one of the livelier members of the crew came flying down the room and landed on my lap next to him. He kind of freaked out, so I put him back in his cage. Then, he did a bunch of this:
Theo is most handsome and we sure hope he only has the sads for a little while.
His right eye looks a bit squinty – maybe a URI coming on?
