Return of the Meep

September 20, 2013

Skittle has been away for a few days getting some intensive care from a more experienced foster.  He had a bad day Monday, almost quit eating, got really light again, and really seemed to be fading.  Tuesday morning we determined that he in fact had fleas, and should have had a bath even though he was so little.  Tuesday afternoon he got a blood transfusion, and has been rebounding since then.  It appears that he is definitely four weeks old, although he was so small, and needs to recover from his malnutrition as well as his debilitating anemia.  He is lapping slurry from a bowl and if I had room for him to play he’d be learning to play.  Doesn’t he look better?

Now that he’s stronger and (we hope) flea-free, he’s in his bigger carrier and on a table in the room with Honey, so they can entertain themselves by observing each other.  I should go offer him some more food soon.  I hope he will get strong quickly and get a clean bill of health so we can give him more space and scope.

That is one serious glare that kittie has. Little Skittle wants some attention, or out of the cage, or something, and he wants it NOW.

Oh my! So much drama in such a young life! He’s definitely looking better and let’s hope it will be smooth sailing from now on. Thanks for giving this little guy the best possible chance!!

Skittle is truly cute! Thank you for all the wonderful care you give this little one. I am praying he keeps getting better and better and can come out to play!
