Foster Friday

June 21, 2013

After a brief flirtation with weight loss, these guys are booming again.  Yesterday, Jif had retaken his position as biggest kitten, passing Skippy by about 0.2 ounces.  I love to be in the kitchen and hear the thundering paws up above.  They have all powered past 1 1/2 pounds and should be ready for their surgery very soon.  My only fear is that Honey will not be able to relax and heal when she has three wild boys with her.  We’ll figure that one out when it happens.

Jif, wondering when I’m going to stop taking pictures and put him on my shoulder so he can bite my hair.

Now, please??

Skippy, laser eyes.

Skippy doesn’t always come out grainy, only when I zoom on him.  Here he is, not grainy.

Peter Pan, ready to launch himself off somewhere.  This guy is a lively one.

Jif and Skippy fooling with one of the ball tracks.  They play in these, and then the shove them around the floor, so that when I come in the room most of their toys are up against the door.

Is this food?  Is this toy?

Honey, wondering where a mom can get a minute’s peace.  Sorry these pictures are so weird, I promise not to use the zoom anymore, it’s awful…

Uh oh, someone’s biting my tail.

Yes the room really is that messy.  Thrown litter and kibble, and drops of Panacur.  When they go for their surgery I’ll take the opportunity to really clean up.

My wife and I live in Ellicott City and we would love to adopt Jiff and Peter Pan. We are planning to head to Petsmart when they are available. They are adorable and we have been watching their progress since they first showed up on your blog 🙂

Actually, I am fostering these guys for the Feline Rescue Association, so they won’t be coming to PetSmart. Here is what you can do right now – go to http://www.baltimorecats.org and fill out the adoption application to get yourself pre-approved. I believe there is a place on the application to indicate if there are specific cats you’re interested in adopting. They have a neutering appointment for July 3rd and will be ready to go a day or two after that.
