Kitten insanity

July 23, 2012

The good news of Saturday was that quiet shy Kathryn got adopted!  She had TWO separate suitors on Saturday afternoon, the first one went away to think about it and the second one had seen her the night before so they swept her away with them.  She went to a quiet home to be an only cat.

Sadly, the handsome tabby boy went back to LC.  Evidently the days of captivity and the surrounding other cats were wearing on him because he bit one of the other volunteers.  I hope he gets a chance to recover his gentle personality.

So we had kittens.  There were a total of six kittens in the room – one was a singleton who was too little to be out and about, but the others were all in the 12-16 week range and boy were they wild!  They bounced off the walls and each other non-stop.  All girls, too, which is unusual.

These two long and lanky torties were so active that I had a hard time getting any pictures at all.

After an hour or so, they slowed down just enough that I could start trying.  Even then, you can see they were in almost constant motion.

They did seem to like being held and petted, as long as it didn’t interfere for too long with their basic desire to run wild, so I decided there was only one way to get pictures of them.

Whoever adopts one of these girls is going to have a wild ride!

Great news about Kathryn! We hope she has a long happy life in her new home. Poor Tabby Boy. Paws crossed that he ‘ll be okay.

Cute kittens! Active, aren’t they? 🙂
