Kittens!  The influx of kittens has finally arrived!  This is of course good news and bad news, as in order to make room for kittens they took back a couple of our longtime adult residents to give them a chance at another store.  Lisette went back, as well as Ms Jorel and Pringles who were both increasingly unfriendly (not the direction we like to go).  Some of our adult residents also got adopted over the past week, so we had good news for Eddie, Emma, Snuggle, Dewey, and Sherbet.  Hadley is still with us and cranky, but she will tolerate a certain amount of head scritching before laying down the law and ignoring further attentions.

So, kittens.  There were three pairs of little ones, and a group of three, and then this little fellow.

His name was Sylvester according to his cage tag.  However, he was not with us long enough to be renamed, and he’ll get a new name from the people who adopted him on Saturday evening.

The other kittens were all of the tiny eight-week variety, but this fellow was closer to 12 weeks, so a little bigger.  He was extremely sociable and wanted to be held all the time, showing his appreciation by purring constantly. We put him in to play with one of the pairs, where he got along well and had a fine time.  Then he got sleepy, and since he was too little to let run around the room, he went to take a nap.

Look at those little sleepy eyes.

Awww, I liked Lisette. What is it with me and the quiet tortie types? Here’s hoping she and the others find homes soonest! I’m going to miss her, though. Yay for all the others finding homes of their own, though. I’m especially unsurprised that Snuggle the snuggler got adopted – what a sweetie! And aww, Silvester sounds like an absolute purry sweetheart.
