Passing the time

February 24, 2012

While Tommy huddled and the crabby calico growled and Saskia raised an eyebrow. the other inmates found ways to pass the time.

Prince LOVES to be brushed, and as soon as I picked up the Zoom Groom and started on him, he got his big self down from the shelf and stretched out and purred.

Amy spent the afternoon like this.

Jass wandered around looking for attention, then when I couldn’t keep her on my lap nonstop for two hours, she decided to see if the cupboard was a good place.

Lisette came down from her condo, but crabby calico got in her face so I put her on her accustomed perch and she hung out there.  She’s a big chubby fluffy girl but she’s timid of crabby felines.

It’s hard to feel like you are giving them all enough attention if they can’t mix with one another.

It’s difficult, isn’t it? When we work the cage rooms at the shelter, we make a schedule of “out” times, so that each cat can have their own time out without having to worry about others. When two or more get along well, they get to spend their out times together. 🙂
