It was this one.

July 31, 2011

I found out which litter of kittens were ill and caused the big disruption at the adoption room.  It was this one.

I was able to read the logs today to see what happened to everyone who was there before this happened.  The two girls in this group got adopted, then the boy got very very sick.  About the time that he was lost, one of the two girls came back to Last Chance for treatment because she also got very sick.  We haven’t heard what’s happened to her because LC is working directly with the family who adopted her.  We don’t know what happened to the third girl.  I think they decided it was distemper, which bodes well for the adult cats who would have been multiple years into being vaccinated for it and thus fairly immune.

Adopted from the pre-disaster group: one of the two beautiful orange brothers we met on July 9th (the other one went back), and the wee floofy tortie.  The two pretty tabby girls, whose sister got adopted, went back.  I’m glad to know what happened to whom and I’m so sorry for those pretty little kittens who got so sick.  Poor little boy.

Oh, distemper is so devastating for little ones. Poor kittens. Hugs…
