Bobby the tabby

September 10, 2009

There was a new little wildman at Petsmart last weekend. His name was Bobby, and he was about 6 months old, I’d guess.

He had the silkiest fur, almost as if he was part Bengal, and lovely markings.

He was hard to photograph because he was so busy.

Too bad he didn’t become a playmate for Tom, who has not been quite the same since his friend Turbo got adopted. The smaller ones don’t really like to get rolled by Tom. Bobby played a lot with this adorable little silver guy, maybe 4 months old.

After an hour he began to be quieter and I could get a few pictures.

Look at those feet. He’s going to be a big strong boy.

This is his little silver playmate, who I am hoping was adopted Sunday – someone came in late Saturday and seemed quite taken with him, but had somewhere else to be and said they’d come back. This guy was quite lovable and outgoing. He reminds me of a singleton kitten named Jerry who was there in June, but caught a cold and left us. I wish it’d be him back again. I’ll have to look in the book to see if it is or not.

This week for the first time, our new residents had four-digit numbers that started with 0. Up until now, they had numbers in the 9000 range. I guess that means Last Chance has gone over 10,000 cats rescued.

Aw, he looks like one of the kitties we have at our shelter, named Tippy ( She’s not a typical hyper tabby though. Bobby looks like a really energetic little guy 🙂

What Sue said, Caroline! The darlings waiting for forever homes, in less than home like surroundings, are very lucky to have you and your daughter to come and give them good lovin’ up!

Joy and Jess from the ‘tute also volunteer at their local PetSmart because they’re not in a position to foster at home right now (they have in the past) and have encouraged many to do so, too.

Your blog promotes both the kittehs and shows folks how rewarding volunteering can be. So lotsa thanks coming your way from the Space Paws crew, honey!
