Kim and Rufus

When Kim and Rufus first came to us, I mixed them into my “kittens” posts because they were just slightly bigger kittens.  But they’ve been with us for more than a month now, so I’m going to give them their own post.  I didn’t think they’d be with us that long.  It’s like they’ve grown up with us, they are now about 5 months old.

Rufus is all black, shiny and strong and very active.  He wants to play and play and play, and sometimes he’s a bit rough or overwhelming to the little ones.

But he is gentle with humans, not at all averse to some attention once he has used up his burst of “I’m-out-of-the-cage” energy.

Kim is a little quieter.  She’s a dilute tortie – mostly grey, with scattered traces of beige and orange.

She can be a little timid, but if you pick her up and start to cuddle her, she almost always starts purring.

This week, almost immediately after getting out of her cage, Kim commandeered the Blue Thing for a nice nap.  One of our new kittens, a little black boy, decided he needed a cuddle and hopped right up with her.  She was fine with that.  I was so tempted to put them together when I put them all back.

She still loves her brother, though.  This was a photo of them that I took about a month ago when they were fairly new with us.

Posts may be somewhat thin next week, as we can’t spend the afternoon at PetSmart tomorrow.  I’ll dredge up some more alumni, and maybe show off another one of my cats.

What a sweet bro & sis! Should we cross our fingers the adopt out together? Those shots were really good, Caroline!
